2012 Japan Cup

The 2012 Japan Cup drew a total of 17 horses. 5 of them are foreign entries.

Orfevre and Solemia(IRE) meet again when they line up in the Japanese premier race. The last time they met in the Arc de Triomphe in an early-October, Solemia got past Orfevre near the line, winning by a neck.

This time, the home advantage goes to Orfevre, who has won two in three starts at Tokyo. Reunited with K. Ikezoe, this colt would have a good chance.

Other fancied horses include Gentildonna, who has dominated the 3-year-old filly classics this season; Rulership, winner of the HK QE Cup who has consistently run on the high level; Eishin Flash and Fenomeno, who finished first and second in the Tenno Sho Autumn respectively.
